- Maxwell E. Johnson is Associate Professor of Liturgical Studies at the University of Notre Dame. He is the author of The Prayers of Sarapion of Thmuis (1995).
- L. Edward Phillips is Associate Professor of Historical Theology at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary (Evanston, Ill.). He is the author of The Ritual Kiss in Early Christian Worship (1992) and In Spirit and Truth (2000).
