Father Lucien Deiss, CSSp, a native of France and resident of Paris, is a pastor, liturgist, author, international lecturer, renowned Scripture scholar, and an expert on liturgical music. A specialist in biblical exegesis, he formerly occupied the Chair of Sacred Scripture and Dogmatic Theology at the Grand Scholasticat des Peres du Saint-Esprit in Paris. As an appointed liturgical expert, he was also on influential member of the Vatican II Consilium on Liturgy.
Father Deiss served as a member of the Committee for the French Ecumenical Bible and was formerly liturgical editor of the magazine Assemblee Novelle. He makes frequent appearances on Vatican radio and French television, addressing subjects of liturgy and music.
