Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, for all people according to their needs:
Wise God, you invite us to set aside immaturity and to live in you. You provide all that we need: shelter, family, friends, clothing, health and even new life in you each day. Make us bold to reach out in the love you have shown us so that we might share from all we have. Keep us aware of the economic needs and calls for justice within our own community and around the world. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. (Proverbs 9:1-6)
Creator of all, you call us to keep our tongues from evil and to stop showing disrespect toward people you have made. You require us to depart from evil and do good, seek peace and pursue it. We pray that through our actions of love others will be inspired to overcome prejudice, to stop fearing their neighbors, and that we might all learn to live together as fellow children of God in this world. Give us your guidance. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. (Psalm 34:9-14)
Strong Lord, make us bold to be your ambassadors to the world so that all may know your gracious love through us. Raise up among us faithful witnesses - pastors, teachers and volunteers who have the integrity and commitment to speak your word with compassion. Protect and guide all who reach out in your name. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. (Ephesians 6:10-20)
Abiding Lord, your constant presence gives us hope to face each day with all its challenges that are difficult to understand. Suffering and death threaten to pull us away from your life-giving promises of resurrection Bring your healing touch to all who are hurting, especially...
Are there others we should include in our prayers?
Your Spirit gives life today and into eternity. Bring your healing spirit into these lives. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. (John 6:56-69)
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
