Luke 2
Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, for all people according to their needs:
Great God of light, you have awakened us from our sinfulness and offered yourself in our place. Though we continue to sin, you keep us ever in your grace. As we receive your Son, the Prince of Peace, answer our prayers for forgiveness and establish us in your righteousness. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. (Isaiah 9:2-7)
Great God of heaven and earth, you created the world out of nothing. You strengthen your people and surround us in beauty. Accept our offerings of time, talent and treasure and use us in your service until all the world rejoices in you. Come into our lives and make us worthy to praise you. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. (Psalm 96)
Great God of grace, bringer of salvation, inspire us to live in such a way that we are examples of your own goodness. Lead us into kind deeds and thoughtful acts so that our lives might praise you in thanks for your gift of redemption. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. (Titus 2:11-14)
Great God of rich and poor, you sent your Son into this world to be the Lord of all. He is the child of Bethlehem who promises wholeness and healing to all creation. Lord, we need your healing touch in our lives and in the lives of those we love. We lift in prayer ...
Are there others we should include in our prayers?
As the shepherds were led to the stable, lead us all to find our strength in you. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. (Luke 2:1-20)
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy; through your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
