Prayers for WorshipHoly Nameby Linda KraftLet us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, for all people according to their needs: Lord God, you name us and bless us as your own children. We thank you for your constant presence. Be present, also, with all who live in fear, those who journey through grief, sadness, addiction or depression that they may gain courage and strength from your holy name. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayers. (Numbers 6:22-27) O Lord our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the earth. We give you thanks for the peace we know through you and we ask you to bring your peace to all lands. Teach us how to make peace a reality in every nation on your earth. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. (Psalm 8) Great Life-giver, you give all believers new life in Christ Jesus your son. We pray for all who await the birth of a child, that their dreams will be fulfilled in a safe delivery and a healthy child. We pray for all who are nearing death that they may see the new life that awaits them in you. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. (Galatians 4:4-7) God of rich and poor, of meek and mighty, we come to you today lifting these children of God for your care... Are there others we should include in our prayers? In your name, encircle them with your loving kindness and give them your own hope and peace. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. (Luke 2:15-21) Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.(Comments to Linda at Linda_Kraft@Ecunet.org.)
