Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, for all people
according to their needs:
Great Spirit of God, you come into our lives even before we know to ask for
your presence. You have graced us with your promises in our baptism. As we
go through this life among our neighbors near and far, inspire us to act in
your name. As children of God, we ask for the courage to love without
prejudice, accept without fear, and welcome without expectations. Lord in
your mercy, hear our prayer. (Acts 10:44-48)
Victorious God, you never forget your love for people of all nations. We
pray for leaders of all governments that they might make decisions based on
justice and mercy. We pray for citizens of America and all nations, that
they might live without fear and with the food, shelter and necessities of
daily life. We ask that wars might end and your people might live in peace.
Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. (Psalm 98)
Life-giving God, loving parent, you remind us by your grace that we are
precious to you. Help us to share this love with neighbors near and far.
Keep preachers, teachers and church volunteers mindful of their calling to
spread the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ. Help our congregation,
our Synod and our national Church to witness to your love through local,
regional, national and international programs that reach out to those in
need. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. (1 John 5:1-6)
Loving God, you show your love to us each and every day. Some days we need
to feel your presence even more as those we love struggle to live healthy
lives and to make wise choices. Be present with these, your children, who
need your tender care:
Are there others we should include in our prayers?
You promise us joy simply because you choose to love us. Embrace your needy
children; send joy into their lives. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
(John 15:9-17)
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray; trusting in your
mercy; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
