Thematic Index of Stories
The thematic index of stories is my response to the results of my survey which indicated that nearly as many of you visit my page for this resource as do for the homilies. Therefore, since the thematic index is of value in certain situations, a similar index of stories should be even more valuable. So here it is. If you do not find a listing for the particular topic you are researching, please consult the Story List page which contains a comprehensive listing of all of the stories which I have used in the past and a short blurb about the content of each one. If you have any suggestions about additional themes which might be helpful to you, or anything else for that matter, please contact me. Thanks for visiting!
ONE LAST NOTE: I have made every effort to contact all of the authors and acknowledge all of the sources for each of the stories herein. If I have missed one, or you are aware of a source, or you are the author whom I have failed to credit, please drop me a note at the address above and I will correct the oversight or (God forbid!) remove the story, if you so desire. My sincerest gratitude to all of the authors who have so graciously permitted me to reproduce their stories for use by preachers of the Word in the furthering of the kingdom. May God bless you all abundantly, if not monetarily!
NOTE OF CAUTION: These stories may be used orally in presentations, but under no circumstances may be reproduced in writing without the explicit permission of the copyright owner. If you do happen to share these with others, please also share the copyright info, lest it be lost in the shuffle (I have seen so many stories come through email without proper accreditation.) You also can be pretty certain that if the authors have granted me their permission, chances are good they will also do so for you. The overwhelming majority were enthusiastic in their support of my use of their material and contacting them was a pleasure. The one major surprise was Guideposts, who steadfastly refused to let their material be used on the internet, even on a web site for preachers, and despite the fact that their founder was Rev. Norman Vincent Peale. Very, very sad, to say the least. Anyway, your cooperation in all of this is appreciated!!
